"Hi folks, it all started for me back in 1963, I grew up in Beeston, Nottingham where I made my first guitar at school, (it took me a year!) all the other lads were making 'plant pots'. I left school and went into motorcycles, but always had music in my blood, so after playing in a couple of bands we started CANDELARBRA, a 3 piece, 60's vocal harmony band in the early 70's, then, turning pro. After travelling all over England and Europe, we were the resident late night band at The Heart of the Midlands, and working early evenings at clubs. (an absolute killer!) After a change of personnel, we formed STONEY BROKE, (they did opportunity knocks) sometimes backing Billy Fury, Marty Wilde, Heinze, etc., but due to family commitments I left after a short while. I worked with a couple of local bands around 1980 before going solo in 1983 performing a classic 60's night, which I did for 20 years. I thought my days were over until a fantastic opportunity came along to work with THE CREW, one of the best 60's bands around! I just could not turn it down! So that's it folks, just come and see the show! Cheers all" |
